So I've been using Vatika oil for around three years now , it is a lovely oil that goes right along with my mostly Ayurveda routine. I usually use it prior to a henna as a pre poo so that the henna slides easily off and I don't have to worry about washing my hair multiple times to get the henna out. If I am going to clarify my hair with a shampoo I use Vatika oil or Hairvedas Cocasta oil prior to washing as a pre poo treatment. One of the reasons I took so long in buying Hairvedas version is because its basically the same thing as Vatika oil that I can get locally. The only difference really is the smell of this. It has a wonderful butter cream frosting smell that smells WAY better than Dabur Vatika oil.
Hairvedas Vatika oil is only sold usually from September through April and she usually has sales where its only $5. That's the only time I purchase it and I use it very sparingly because a little goes a long way. I am actually still working my way through my first jar that I purchased in late 08.
