As a thick strand nappy I really don't need anything that has hold in to to twist my hair. I wear my hair in twists most of the time and to be honest I could twist my hair with some water and a tad bit of oil. The only time I use a product with hold is when I want my twist how to be really defined. I like that wavy look so I look for products that say custard, pudding, pomade, or gelly/jelly.
The key to my hair being soft and defined is a styler on the bottom and a cream type product on top. There are times when I use a hair milk on bottom and a oil on top, the resulting twist out are very fluffy and soft with that mix. If I want just soft hair that fluffs out, I use just a creamy/ cream based products. I don't have many stylers in my stash.
Kinky Curly Curling Custard
Afroveda Pur Whipped Jelly
MyHoneyChild Honeylove Pomade*
Qhemet Biologics Honeybush tea Gel
MyHoneyChild Natural Hair Creme *
Komaza Care Coconut Pudding
Sweet Ohm Hair Pudding
* I will not repurchase both, either one or the other. They both work exactly the same
I see a lot of ladies layering product and I just cant get down with all that even with my hair being thick. The key to my hair is to section , apply product and twist. If I have to spray it over loose hair or its too watery it's not going to work. When my hair is wet it shrinks down to my head so unless I'm going for that look it's not something I let happen often.
