Herb N Life

I am such a fan of anything that hints of organics and Ayurveda in the same breath. I recall seeing a product called Coconut Hemp on a fellow natural lady's fotki. I was intrigued but I always admonish myself to stop just randomly buying products so I ignored it.

Well months later a nice lady hits me up on fotki and I go look at her product album and she has a product called Royal Rinse Herbal Shampoo. I was immediately intrigued because she stated that she has been using this since she was loc'd and now that shes a loose natural it still works .I was sold!

I googled it and lo and behold both products are made by the same company. I placed an order so quick like no ones business. I ordered on 10/30/09 and it arrived 11/11/09. I was really anxious to try it out not realizing I'm in a protective style until the 29th of November.

I'm in Ayurveda big time , about 95% of my stash consistent of something touching on Ayurveda. I just ordered the Ayurvedic Shampoo bar from Chagrin Valley Soaps but honestly I just cant get down with a poo bar no matter how good. I love liquid. If push comes to shove I usually just liquefy my poo bar. I loved Blended Beauty's Soy Shampoo. My hair always felt so good and soft after using however the shipping price plus the $18 is a killer .

The Royal Rinse is $14 and 8 ozs. Its very concentrated so I wont need a lot. The ingredients are:Black soap, castile soap, purified water herbal infused with flax seeds, rosemary, neem, shikakai, amla, and sage, aloe vera gel, hemp oil, olive oil , coconut oil, Shea butter, vegetable glycerin, vitamin e, grapefruit seed extract, essential oils of rosemary, eucalyptus, peppermint, geranium and natural fragrance, love.

The Head Sprung is $16 and 8 ozs, which is a little pricey but the smell is so intoxicating! The ingredients are :aloe vera juice and gel , jojoba oil, Olive oil, vitamin e, herbal infusion of rosemary and neem, flax seed.

The Coconut Hemp is $15 and 4 ozs, The ingredients are : Shea butter, hemp oil , avocado butter, Castor oil , olive oil , coconut oil , neem powder, rosemary , shikakai, amla, vegetable glycerin, cocoa butter, essential oils of rosemary, sage , peppermint, eucalyptus, and tea tree, vitamin e, gse and love.

There are local places in NY GA FLA , Trinidad and Hawaii that the products can be purchased from. The website is

I will be back with updates on this one.

This will be the first thing I use after I take my hair out on 29th, I have my routine already planned out.

I'm going prepoo with some vatika oil, then wash my hair with the Royal Rinse, then spray the leave in, detangle, then twist with the Coconut hemp and a little cocasta oil.

I haven't found many ayurvedic products that don't irritate my scalp in some way. Well, just about anything does that though. But most of the ayurvedic stuff works pretty well on my hair. How did this work for you?

I agree that these products do smell great, however I will NEVER order directly from the HerbnLife website again. It took a month to receive my order and that was after several emails inquiring about the status of my order and being ignored and being lied to about when it actually shipped....They need to get it together!!

i used to love this on my locks. I ordered it from another site, but i havent used it in about 2 yrs b/c the price point is too high. you could def make your own version of this.

@Natty, the shampoo, spray and hemp butter are FAB. Im currently using the spray and it livens up the hair nicely

@ Anonymous, Im so sad to hear that. I heard in the past they were having shipping issues, when I ordered this time I received my things in less than 2 weeks.

@msjaim, I agree with you. The only repurchase might be the hempseed butter if I cant make my own version
