Ayurveda is more than just a medical system , its called the science of life by many. Some think that Ayurveda is able to maintain health in a person by using principles of nature to bring individuals back into balance with their true self. Ayu means life and Veda means knowledge of.
I googled natural hair care years ago , around early 06 and that's how I found Nappturality but I also found AfroVeda and at the time she wasn't that popular so I bookmarked her site because it intrigued me, I also found HairVeda after trying to research Ayurveda hair care. I was really intrigued by three Ayurvedic Hair types , Vata ,Pitta and Kapha. I have so many hair types on my head that I try not to fit myself in a specific group. I just pick what sounds good and go with the flow.
Well the first products I tried from AfroVeda were the Coconut moisture milk, the Shikakai growth hair elixir, and the Curly Pudding , I then tried samples of the Totally Twisted ginger almond butter, Shea amla whipped butter cream, Nu Milk Lotion and the Kiss Seed Lotion. She dropped new products and I ordered the PUR Whipped Gelly and the Hemp Seed Lock Butter.A friend blessed me to try out the entire Seven line . Mala's whole line is wonderful and I'm realizing that I'm a true Ayurveda girl.
95% of my products have some type of Ayurveda element , from Qhemet Biologics, to HairVeda, to my Ayurveda powders I use to cleanse my scalp.
I usually use Amla, Shikakai, Aritha and Brahmi that usually does a wonderful job. I make thick paste with warm water and massage the paste throughout my hair , I leave on for about 10 minutes and then rinse with cool water. I then proceed to do my normal routine.
